Tiaki (care) Whaiaro (self) is the philosophy behind Kate's work with patients who need support with their weight management goals. 

She is Aotearoa-New Zealand’s most experienced Metabolic Bariatric Nurse Specialist (weight loss surgery), and now also works with increasing numbers of patients using medications (GLP-1s etc) for weight management.

Her consultations are built around your unique needs and experiences. The goal is to empower and guide you to find and develop mental and emotional self-care strategies so you can better manage your weight long-term.

Our prescription team

Nurse Bronnie Evans (left) and nurse practitioner Sarah Patrick are based at Pleasant Point Health in Canterbury. 

Once you have a referral from Kate, they will work with you via telehealth (video) on a prescription, educate you on using the medication, and provide the immediate support you'll need to manage side effects.

Nurse practitioners (mātanga tapuhi) have advanced education, clinical training and the demonstrated competence and legal authority to prescribe medications.

Katie Lambert

Bariatric Dietitian

Katie Lambert has over 20 years of experience in Aotearoa-NZ and overseas.

She supports people before and after weight loss surgery, and those using medications, through personalised, evidence-based care.

Katie will work with you to ensure your nutritional needs are met and to help you navigate the many changes that come with weight loss.

Her calm, compassionate approach is focused on up-to-date, best-practice guidelines. She understands that food is not just nourishment, but plays an important role in emotional wellbeing and social connection.

Angela Oliver

Exercise Consultant

Ange can work alongside you, even if you've never stepped foot in a gym, all via video.

Her focus is on helping you preserve muscle and bone mass, build functional strength, and learn to feel more confident.

Her approach is grounded in evidence and delivered with empathy, working with you to build practical skills.

Strength training is a powerful tool to protect your health long-term, improve mobility, and keep you feeling strong and capable.
