WEBINAR LIVE: How to eat your way through Christmas
What: 60 minute webinar via Zoom
Host: Kate Berridge, metabolic bariatric nurse specialist
When: Tuesday, December 2nd, 7pm
Christmas is when we most commonly see the strongest cravings for food, alcohol and other stress-relief coping mechanisms, and often the more extreme behaviours that cause us stress.
It can also be a time for some when things are sad or lonely, when routines go out the window, and when many people do their 'new year assessment' and see themselves as coming up short.
Even wonderful experiences with family and friends can still be stressful, primarily due to time constraints, energy depletion, sleep deprivation, and dysregulation in others, such as children or elderly parents.
This webinar is a practical guide looking at the places where things can be hard and offering evidence-based advice:
- practical nutrition advice (not a diet guide, probably more a reminder and ideas)
- why we get cravings and food noise, and what to do when they hit you
- ways to manage when you go off the rails
We all know what not to do - this webinar will be positive ways you can help yourself. They're the kinds of things that will work at any time of year, but when stress is amplified over Christmas, it can be a really useful learning experience.
There will be a Q+A session in the second half of the webinar.
If you can't join us live on the night, the webinar will be recorded and we will send a link to a replay a day or two later.
